Safety

Firebrand IV is powered by a Yahama 250Hp engine. It is fully licensed by the MCA, category 4 (up to 20 miles offshore) insured and coded for 10 passengers and carries a full complement of safety equipment including life rafts. Life jackets provided. Firebrand IV trips operate from St Mary's Quay.

All passengers are provided with fully automatic inflating lifejackets and waterproofs are available on request. If you are prone to motion sickness it might be wise to take a travel sick tablet, although it is rare for our guests to suffer seasickness. We advise our guests to use a high protection sunscreen due to the clarity of our air and the reflection from the sea. We also suggest our guests wear warm and windproof clothing as the ride is like being on a motorbike as we speed from sight to sight and one can feel chilly at sea.

Because of the nature of the trip there are occasional bumps due to possible sea conditions, however the boat is driven in such a way as to minimise any jolts. Guests who have back or neck problems, who are severely overweight or pregnant should advise us at the time of booking so we can discuss the suitability of the trip with them.
